The not uncomplicated life of genius.
Punctuated with poignant and funny bon mots.
Like the wonderful Beautiful Life it's a satisfyingly poised film, it feels just right: a little Italian, elegant, restrained, sophisticated; and with one of the most discombobulating final scenes of any film we can remember.
Enzo is founder and Ferrari the vehicle for his creative vision, as Apple was to Steve Jobs (we recommend Isacsson's very good biography - but not the film).
Strange then that Ferrari failed to make its money back at the box office - or is it, up against such competition as Barbie and Oppenheimer... - but perhaps better that people enjoy this charming film in the quiet intimacy of home, for Ferrari, like its namesake, is a considered choice.
